Super cool photos in high speed photos!
Another early morning out to photograph with my 4x5 camera. Todays subject? Doors! I started photographing in color. Here is one of the doors I took with my digital and 4x5 of this door on the Ponte Vecchio of a jewelry shop. Then I took pictures of the door at Piazza Piti, and church door at PIazza Santo Spirito. Here is a photo of the piazza at 6:30 in the morning, everyone is getting food and drinks brought to their store and its quiet and a very nice atmosphere to be around. By far this is one of my favorite Piazzas in all of Florence
ANother still life set up for me to draw for another week. I set it up yesterday and was going to draw on this large sheet of paper that I bought so try it out. I tried to erase the paper and it just failed miserably, I got extremely mad at my paper and made it into an extremely messy charcoal drawing. Doesn’t look half bad anymore actually, will try to make it look better though. Then a nice clean drawing after, on paper that i have worked on before
As it is Sunday, this morning I went to the Piazza next to my place called Piazza di Santo Spirito. Almost everyday they have a market open up for. Everyday they sell something different, wood cutting boards, copper, silver, leather, and food. Today I got some olives from this nice older lady that helped with my Italian. Had to take a photo of my olives too because they are really big olives and they taste really good. After I bought them her husband had me try some parmesan cheese, which was also really good. I would have boughten some but I already have some so I have to wait and finish mine before I get some more. Next Sunday is the 3rd Sunday of the month so there will be bigger markets that day. I plan to get food and a few other things that Sunday and then head to Fiesole to buy a few more things as well.
Me and my 4x5 camera, out in the city of florence for more adventures. Woke up before 6am to go photograph the view from the Ponte Vecchio. Had 4 places that I photograph and I brought my digital to document what I photographed with my 4x5, then I decided to get a photo of my camera as proof. The best time for sure to photograph the city is starting at 6am. Its quiet, no one is really out at all so no one is going to be in my photograph. Unfortunately, I have to wait to process all my 4x5 film when I get back home because no one processes large film here, which is very very sad. oh well, it will be an exiting moment to see all of my film done and how the photographs turned out.
On May 5th in Holland it is Freedom Day (more know as Liberation Day), which is the day that Holland was free from Nazi power. So they throw lots of free concerts all over the city and we went to one for a few hours. Super fun! This was one of the more popular shows and we were all the way in the back, me being short couldn’t get see anything at all. So this is one of the better shots that i got of all the people and stage.
Went from May 2nd to the 8th to visit a friend in Holland. We went one day to the beach to walk around and I took my shoes off and stuck my feet into the North Sea! The tide was very low so there was a lot of sand and beach area that people could lay on. It was a little chilly and windy but very fun! I enjoy so much to walk on the beach!
A door inside the Boboli Garden near my apartment here in Florence. Was the garden of the Medici family next to their home. Here is a larger door but not as “fancy” as some other ones I have seen. Probably doors to a tool shed or something during that time. But variety is always great. Boboli garden is an amazing place and never seems that busy. I love it there.
Yesterday was such nice warm weather. 88! Spent most of the day outside but took some time to go to my favorite wine bar and get a nice cup of cold wine to drink. Here is a quick shot of the inside of the wine bar. Small place but very good, they have rows and rows of different wines. I will miss this place when I least at the end of May.
